Glass and Copper

Considered a bit of a rebel in the enameling world, Tanya Garvis likes to break some rules of the “true process” in pursuit of her own style. She prefers to work with copper as a substrate and uses a variety of powdered glass colors. She makes each piece with hand-cut copper fired individually. Her creations are highly intuitive. No two pieces are the same, making possibilities infinite. One copper square can be all it takes, other times a collage of hundreds makes it complete.
