"Emerald Pool Sunset:" The quest for some color in the sky during sunset at this emerald green pool at Sycamore Falls kept me returning a couple of times to try to capture the scene before the waterfalls stopped flowing. The first time I came, the clouds ended up pretty much disappearing before sunset. On this occasion, the cloud cover initially seemed to become too much to allow for any color to break through. I actually waited about 5 to 10 minutes past technical sunset when suddenly, I was delighted to see parts of the clouds light up in shades or red and pink. You can see the slight rain bands falling from the center as well, adding a little more moisture to feed the flows for possibly just a bit longer.
