"Aurora Wishes in Sedona:" I had never witnessed an aurora before-- yes, I am still bummed about missing May's monumental event. This last predicted one on October 10th, I took my chances and went against the advice I had read to find an unobstructed view of the horizon and instead planted myself with 2 big obstructions in my view-- Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte in Sedona. I didn't know if I would see any colorful lights or if they would even rise high enough in the sky, and there were quite a bit of clouds also competing for the view as the evening started, but as soon as dusk fell, I was beyond ecstatic with the luminous visions in the sky that appeared to dance over and between the beautiful red rocks, which were illuminated by the moon. I did not even realize I had captured a faint shooting star until I looked at the images on the computer, as if to remind me even after the fact of the wish I had made that came true.
