"Stable Aurora Red Arc Sedona:" While I was capturing the aurora in Sedona this month, I saw a red band arching across the sky high overhead. This is known as a SAR (Stable Aurora Red) arc, which can at times be seen in correlation with strong geomagnetic storms. In this photo, it spans the sky above Lee Mountain and the Twin Buttes. The bright light in the lower left of the buttes is actually coming from the Chapel of the Holy Cross, which remains lit continuously.
